Debbie Chitwood

Debbie is an architect and a potter from Mount Pleasant, SC. She first explored her love for throwing pottery at the Gibbs Museum School in downtown Charleston, in the 1990's Busy with her career, and raising a family Debbie set pottery aside for a few years, only returning to the wheel in 2018. She currently teaches a class at the Clay Cottage Pottery Studio in Mount Pleasant. She also practices Architecture at Novus Architects in Charleston. She and her husband John have a house on Edisto Beach and visit as often as they can. Debbie refers to Edisto as her "Happy Place". Previously only given as gifts, this is the only place her works is offered for sale. Debbie likes to create work that makes her happy like her candle holders and bird pots.
